Michael W. Weber

Michael Weber is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Volunteers of America—Minnesota, the state-wide affiliate of the national Volunteers of America, Inc. He holds a BA from St. John’s University (Collegeville, Minn.) and an MA from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. Previously, he has served as the Associate Director and Acting Executive Director of the National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse, the Director of the Program for the Community Protection of Children, the Director of the Hennepin County Community Services Department and Assistant Commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Weber has served on numerous national advisory boards and commissions including the US Advisory Board on Child Abuse and Neglect, the National Association of Public Child Welfare Administrators, the Intensive Family Preservation Services National Network, the Children's Division of the American Humane Association, the National Commission on Child Welfare and Family Preservation, and the National Commission on Family Foster Care. 

In 1990, he was the recipient of the Vincent DeFrancis Award from the American Humane Association for outstanding contributions to the field of child abuse prevention, and recipient of the 1993 Award for Excellence in Public Child Welfare Administration from the National Association of Public Child Welfare Administrators.
