Farmers’ Legal Action Group, Inc.

Project Description

Farmers’ Legal Action Group (FLAG) is working with farmers to protect and preserve the metro region’s farmland to make sure that production of healthy, locally grown food continues to be available in the Twin Cities region and throughout Minnesota.

FLAG is providing legal and technical assistance for the Local Harvest Alliance in Scott County, one of the region’s “bread baskets” where food producers are competing for the attention of public officials with commercial and residential developers.

The Alliance is a coalition of farmers and consumers who are working in support of regional land management policies that protect the quality farmland that is necessary for the sustainable production of locally grown food.
