With a grant from the Sloan Foundation, the City of Minneapolis Coordinator’s Office engaged Rainbow Research to conduct four focus groups with Minneapolis residents on the following topics: resident’s areas of interest in receiving performance information, cues used to evaluate the quality of city services, and sources of information about city performance. Rainbow Research worked with the city to develop the focus group guide, then recruited Minneapolis residents using multiple methods, and conducted four groups in the fall of 2007. Results will be analyzed thematically and presented to the Coordinator’s office for use in developing a website or other media to better report the City’s progress on measurement indicators.
